Welcome to Uncommon Canarsie Elementary School

Uncommon Canarsie Elementary School is located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Canarsie. In August 2013, Uncommon Canarsie Elementary School opened to serve 58 students in Kindergarten. We now serve students in all grades from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

We are an elementary school serving grades K to 4. Scholars attend Uncommon Canarsie Middle School starting in grade 5.

Uncommon Canarsie Elementary School develops its curriculum directly from the New York State Learning Standards that ensures students master a core set of basic academic skills before mastering higher-level material. We also use internally developed assessments to build a culture of continuous reflection and improvement.
