Welcome to Uncommon Brownsville North Elementary School

Students have the opportunity to attend our elementary academy for grades K to 4, and to continue on to 不寻常的布朗斯维尔北区中学 for grades 5 to 8 and 不寻常领导力特许高中 for grades 9 to 12.

Uncommon Brownsville North Elementary School opened in August 2010, and is co-located with Uncommon Brownsville North Middle School in the Ocean Hill-Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Grades K-4

We are an elementary school serving grades K to 4. Scholars attend Uncommon Brownsville North Middle School starting in 5th grade.

Transportation

Yellow bus service provided and determined by the Department of Education Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT).

Excellence in Learning

We provide all students with a rigorous curriculum that prepares them for college and beyond. We have a longer school day and school year to allow for more learning time, and provide after-school tutoring to ensure that all of our students meet our high academic expectations.

Emphasis on College

Uncommon Brownsville North Elementary School begins educating students about the importance of college from day one and continues doing so through college readiness activities found in middle and high school. The goal is for freshman year of college to become a natural extension of graduating from high school.

Targeted Curriculum and Assessment

Uncommon Brownsville North Elementary School develops its curriculum directly from the New York State Learning Standards that ensures students master a core set of basic academic skills before mastering higher-level material. We also use internally developed assessments to build a culture of continuous reflection and improvement.
